The crisis I see is that a majority of our Unitarian Universalist national leaders have become committed to a particular ideology that threatens two aspects of UUism.
The national “leaders” of the UU Ministers Association have left the denomination: Rev Trudeau.
Using logic isn’t necessarily racist any more than using ships or roadways is racist, though both were used in the slave trade.
Dogmatism and fanaticism are incompatible with our Unitarian Universalist tradition. Even ideas we think are universally accepted among us must still be open to discussion and challenge.
If Rev. Todd Eklof is an apostate, so am I. If Rev. Richard Trudeau is worthy of censure by the board of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association, so am I — indeed, I am more worthy of such censure than either of these men.
